About Us
Burly Archery is a small, family-run business powered by a father–daughters team in Bend, Oregon. We design, build, and test all our gear ourselves, because archery is more than a hobby for us—it’s a way of life.
Meet Chris (the dad):
Chris Ferguson is a design engineer by trade and a competitive archer by passion. He’s always tinkering, improving, and creating—from stabilizers and bow scopes to stands, tools, and even his own compound bow. As an accomplished and active competitor, Chris brings firsthand knowledge of what archers need from their gear. When he’s not in the shop or on the range, he runs an industrial design firm specializing in product design and development. He also coaches the Bend High Archers, sharing his experience with the next generation of shooters.
Meet Gwen (the youngest daughter):
Gwen Ferguson is a high school sophomore who has been shooting since she was four years old. While she loves archery, she’s not as competition-driven as her dad—she enjoys the sport on her own terms. Gwen is the creative spark behind Burly Archery’s website and customer service, and you’ll often spot her helping out at trade shows. She shoots youth female open class with her bow decked out in custom Burly gear. Her favorite events are indoors, especially during the winter season.
Meet Nora (the oldest daughter):
Nora Ferguson is a high school senior who has been shooting since she was four years old. Naturally competitive, she’s always pushing herself to be better—on and off the range. Nora is an accomplished archer who has earned medals both indoors and outdoors. Beyond archery, she’s a standout multi-sport athlete: a key member of Oregon’s State Champion High School Rugby team, a wrestler, and a highly competitive volleyball player. She also puts our gear to work on the range and supports the business on the sales and marketing side
Why Burly Archery?
We started Burly Archery to create gear we love to use—and to share it with other archers who want dependable, well-designed equipment. For Gwen, it’s also a way to earn a little extra money on a schedule that works with school and sports. For Chris, it’s a way to combine engineering know-how with a passion for archery.
At the end of the day, Burly Archery is about family, fun, and making gear that works as hard as you do.
